This Privacy Policy describes how Indexing Society of Canada / Société canadienne d’indexation (ISC/SCI) collects, uses, and discloses your Personal Information when you visit or make a purchase from the website.


Information we collect when you fill out a form

When you contact us using our forms we collect your name, email address, IP address, and all the information you include in the form fields. If you do not provide the mandatory information required by our form, you will not be able to submit the form and we will not receive your submission.

We keep the form submissions for one year for customer service purposes.

Information we collect for member services

Member Information

When you register as a member, we ask for your email address in order to set up your account. You may provide us with more information—like your name—but we don’t require that information to create your account.

You can see, edit, or delete your personal information at any time (except you cannot change your username). Website administrators can also see and edit your information.

Your email address and any personal information you provide when you register is automatically shared with other ISC/SCI members in the Membership Directory. If you wish to be removed from the Membership Directory, please send an email to the web administrator at

Listed Profiles

Any information you provide in a Listed Profile is shared publicly and may be discovered by search engines. You can see, edit, or delete your information at any time. Website administrators can also see and edit that information.

Membership Emails

From time to time, we will send you emails for the following purposes:

  • To inform you of news and events of the ISC/SCI and affiliated societies
  • To solicit your feedback and suggestions

If you would like to be removed from membership emails, please send an email to and we will remove your email address from our list.

Other emails

We may send you “system” emails, such as responses to password reset requests, membership renewal reminders, and payment notifications/receipts.

If you request a password reset, your IP address will be included in the reset email.

If you choose to correspond with us through email, we may retain the content of your email messages together with your email address and our responses. We provide the same protections for these electronic communications that we employ in the maintenance of information received online, mail, and telephone.


For purchases on credit card, payment information is shared with Stripe. This information includes:

  • Name
  • Email Address
  • Address
  • Phone
  • City/Province/Postal Code
  • Unique payment identifier
  • Payment provider identifier
  • Credit Card Information: This data is sent to Stripe, and is never stored on our server.

WordPress uses cookies, or tiny pieces of information stored on your computer, to verify who you are. There are cookies for logged in users and for commenters.

Cookies for registered users

If you have an account and you log in to this website, we will set a temporary cookie to determine if your browser accepts cookies. This cookie contains no personal data and is discarded when you close your browser.

No personal data from children

We do not knowingly collect Personal Data from children under 13 years of age in Canada or the USA or 16 years of age in the European Union.

If you are under 13 in Canada or the USA or 16 in the European Union years of age, you should not provide Personal Data to us.

If we discover that a child under the age of 13 in Canada or the USA or 16 in the European Union has provided us with Personal Data and we do not have parental consent, we will immediately delete that child’s information.

What rights you have over your data

If you have an account on this website, or have left comments, you can request to receive an exported file of the personal data we hold about you, including any data you have provided to us.

For visitors that have left comments, the data will be their email address, any IP addresses assigned to them at the time of leaving the comments and the user agent strings of the browsers they used. The rest of the data is public as published by the visitors.

For registered users or paying customers, this will also include profile information and download/payment histories.

You can also request “to be forgotten” and we will erase any personally identifiable data we have about you. Of course, this excludes data we need for administrative or security purposes or if we are required by law to retain some of the data.
